Week 1. Confidence and Friendship.
Our first session on Friday 23rd Oct we focussed on making our young people feel comfortable and at ease with the children from the other schools attending. We empowered them to set their own set of guidelines on a large board so we all know the rules moving forward. After a few games to get to know each other we then had our snacks and refreshments. Then it was “Art Attak”. In this activity we showed the children lots of different artworks from some famous (and some not famous!) artists. Then let them loose to create a piece of individual artwork with the express remit that it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks… if you like it that’s all that matters! This shows the young people that sometimes it’s their opinion, when it comes to creativity in the arts, that they should have the option and confidence to express this.
